Project Overview
Introduction
Swanky Tee’s is an offshoot of Coey’s Closet, created to feature more adult-themed designs outside the family-focused brand. The client originally built the store using WooCommerce based on its popularity and feature set. However, when I joined the project, the owner was struggling with time-consuming product entry, plugin complexity, and maintenance costs.
The goal was to simplify operations while maintaining professional presentation, SEO structure, and functionality—including the client’s desired shirt design studio.
Process
I began by auditing the existing WooCommerce setup, identifying inefficiencies and potential plugin conflicts. The workflow for product creation was unnecessarily long—taking up to 30 minutes per item. After reviewing InkSoft’s capabilities (the client’s preferred core platform), we determined that shifting the store to InkSoft would streamline management and lower costs.
I created a new, single-page WordPress site at swankytees.net using Divi to act as the brand’s digital storefront. This page provides an overview of the company, a blog for announcements and SEO growth, and a direct link to the new InkSoft store hosted at store.swankytees.net.
To ensure consistent optimization, I designed a custom Notion product-tracking template. This system allows Swanky Tee’s (and sister brands Coey’s Closet and CoeyTech) to plan, optimize, and track all products, whether added manually or generated with AI assistance. The template outputs fully formatted, SEO-structured entries compatible with InkSoft’s product system.
Outcome
The transition significantly simplified product management and enhanced consistency between store listings and marketing efforts. What once required multiple plugins and tedious data entry now takes a fraction of the time—around five minutes per product, with another ten minutes for optimization.
The InkSoft-based store provides a cleaner, faster customer experience with integrated design studio functionality. While its long-term SEO performance remains to be seen, the foundational optimization work positions the brand for visibility growth. The Notion-based optimization workflow ensures every product is introduced with the same level of precision and attention to detail, supporting sustainable e-commerce operations moving forward.
